Landscape painter Lisa Pedersen captures the diverse beauty of the California landscape by traveling up and down the coast, painting the open spaces, local architecture, orange groves, eucalyptus and oak trees.
“I started painting about 10 years ago with Pasadena artist, John Brosio, who studied with Wayne Theibaud. I am influenced by the California Impressionists, Russell Chatham and most recently, artist Wolf Kahn.” Lisa explains.
“Both my parents are artists, my sister Janet lives in Brooklyn and is an artist/ illustrator from Art Center in Pasadena, and my grandfather on my Mom’s side came over here from Denmark and with his brother, and painted scenes of the west coast.” Lisa paints with water-based oil on masonite or board.
