Vidya’s spiritual approach to her artistic pursuits and her calm, gracious interaction with to her clients may be attributed to her former years as a nun at Montecito’s Vedanta Temple.
For nearly a decade, she has been designing and painting exquisite decorative art, often inspired by classic works. She first trained with a local muralist then and worked for Marc Decorative Finishes, perfecting her skills in stencilling, color palette selection and trompe l’oeil. Vidya’s meticulous research and preparation often involves drawing the initial design in miniature for the client’s approval before beginning the final design. In 2000 Vidya established her own full time business as an independent contractor.
